DOORS Groups and LDAP

Is anyone using LDAP to manage users, but managing DOORS groups in DOORS?

The manual says you must not do it, but I don't see why not.

My customer is using LDAP and managing all groups using LDAP as well, but that means puting in an IT request just to give someone permissions on a project which is a bit of an overhead and takes time.
They want the doors admin to be able to create groups and add users to groups inside doors.

Tony--I did get TDS set up at one company and used DOORS to do the group management. I can't think of why you wouldn't want to do it this way.

As an aside, you have to be really careful when you deploy TDS. Once you make this decision, you basically lose the ability to run multiple versions of Telelogic products at the same company. Everyone has to be on DOORS 9.1. Using Synergy or Change? Those have to be upgraded at the same time as DOORS.

They don't really tell you that when you decide to roll it out. Further, I hate the way using TDS changes the manage user interface within DOORS. It seems like a whole lot of extra work for us admins and IT just for a user to use the same password throughout all Telelogic programs.
